Pumpkins are so good!!! I have found a recipy (as mentioned earlier) for Pumpkin Bread (cake). Well, I also use up the seeds.

I wash up the seeds, dry them for a few days on a kitchen towel and then dry roast them in the oven. Most people add a little oil to them and seasoning (which is super tasty) but I do them without oil sometimes.

They are really good for you!!

Which is cheaper: home-made or store bought bread?

I wanted to find out if baking bread at home really is cheaper than buying it from the store. So, to do that, I went to the store that is known to have really good prices: Super C. I got the prices for each item in my recipy. Mind you, I wanted to get the regular prices, to show that when you get things on special, your bread becomes even cheaper! I also counted electrictity. Home-made Cooking and Baking

Speaking of freeing up money and saving on packaging, why not embark on a culinary adventure? The sky is the limit when it comes to home baked food. Along with personal satisfaction you can make fewer trips to the grocery store (saving time, gas and avoiding impulsive purchases). One can also increase time spent with the family by meal planning, baking, preserving and cooking together. All of these concepts put together can save much money, time and stress, not to mention avoiding many health problems (associated with poor nutrition). Of course one can practise all these things and still make bad choices nutritionally so it is very important to understand and work towards a balanced healthy diet. It is possible (and I have seen and heard of it countless times) to feed a family of 6-8 on $200 per week!! Sometimes, the meal planning is a month at a time, the families garden, preserve their own condiments (ketchup, relish, mustard, pickles, beets, jams, jellies, etc.)
